“Each time you meet an old emotional pattern with presence, your awakening to truth can deepen. There’s less identification with the self in the story and more ability to rest in the awareness that is witnessing what’s happening. You become more able to abide in compassion, to remember and trust your true home. Rather than cycling repetitively through old conditioning, you are actually spiraling toward freedom.” ―Tara Brach, True Refuge: Finding Peace and Freedom in Your Own Awakened Heart

Currently I see individual clients (ages 18+) from both North Carolina and Minnesota via tele health. Tele health is a HIPPA compliant video platform that clients can easily access via any computer, tablet or phone that has a camera and microphone. I am currently dual licensed in both states so am able to accept some insurance plans or private payment.

Within therapy sessions I draw on several different modalities and theoretical models. In most sessions I work to incorporate mindfulness skills which provide us the space to identify limiting thought and behavior patterns and pivot towards more effective ways of interacting with self and the greater world. I partner with clients to assess which approach will most resonate and assist in creating change. For some clients this might involve weekly homework and a more structured format. For others therapy may be more process oriented and experiential. I strive to create an environment where clients feel safe, seen and accepted, but also challenged.

Who Do I Work With?

Individuals: There are times where gaining outside perspective, new coping tools or having a safe and neutral place to process can be beneficial. I work with a variety of mental health challenges including anxiety, depression, PTSD and grief. I also enjoy helping people through life transitions, be it a move, new job, or death of a loved one. While I don’t currently see couples, I welcome the opportunity to help individuals work on relationship issues. This may involve healing from a difficult break-up or developing more effective communication tools to use in an existing relationship.

Perinatal Mental Health: Parenthood can be tough! I enjoy working with both moms AND dads to support the transition into parenthood (whether experiencing your first or fourth birth). I recently received my Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) from Postpartum Support International (PSI). I love working with families of all different compositions and am affirming of YOUR lifestyle choices.

Addiction: In life, most people will deal with some level of addictive behavior (be it chemical substances, sex, internet, success, perfectionism, food, people pleasing, etc.). I have a wide variety of experience supporting clients at various stages of addiction and recovery. My approach is to help clients identify where an addiction may be limiting within their lives, what they are getting from the addictive behavior, and more healthy alternatives to gain support to implement and maintain healthy change.
